Borge Mogensen

Børge Mogensen was one of the leading Danish furniture designers of the 20th century, known for creating functional, durable and timeless projects. Born in 1914, he was educated at the Danish school of art and craftsmanship and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under the direction of Kaare Klinta. His works reflect modernist philosophy, emphasis on usability, minimalism and quality. He designed mainly from wood using traditional craft techniques, which he combined with a modern form. One of his most famous furniture are "Sofa 2213" and "The Spanish Chair". As the main designer, FDB Møbler promoted the idea of ​​democratic design - available to everyone. Its influence on Danish modernism and utility design remains fundamental, and its projects are still produced and valued all over the world to this day.
