Benny Frandsen is a recognized, Danish designer and founder of the brand Frandsen Lighting, born in Skanderborg. Electrician engineer by profession, in 1968 he began producing lamps in the basement of his home, which initiated his career in the field of lighting. His groundbreaking design was the Ball lamp, a spherical wall luminaire with a magnetic mount, which quickly gained popularity and became a icon of Danish design. In 1972, Frandsen moved production to the factory in Skanderborg to meet the growing of Emu demand. In 1996 he bought the company and renamed it into Frandsen Lighting a/s. In 2005 he purchased the brand Verpan, obtaining the rights to the production of Verner PAN Ton a.
